#DontDelistGrizzlies has created bumper stickers to inform the public what is happening with the grizzlies bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

We will not retain any funds except for the cost of the bumper stickers and mailing. The remaining funds will be donated to GOAL Tribal Coalition and Wyoming Wildlife Advocates to assist for expenses to keep fighting to stop the delisting of grizzlies bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

If you are interested in purchasing a sticker, please email us as dontdelistgrizzlies@gmail.com with the following information: name, address, email address, and how many of which (Snowy or Scarface) bumper stickers you want.

We will contact you at a later date with information on where to send your check or money order.  At this time we are trying to get an estimate how many bumper stickers we should order.

** Thank you to Gary Rowe and Wild at Heart Images for use of the photos for these bumper stickers.

Missing IGBST Report #2

ACTION RESOLVED. REPORT RELEASED! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP

Last week, in response to pressure from our group, the Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team released a 2 page summary of the 2015 annual report. While this is nowhere near sufficient (last's years annual report was over 120 pages!), the summary did provide some concerning statistics regarding population decline. It is imperative that we get the FULL report as soon as possible.

Please call, email, tweet, leave Facebook comments for the following officials, legislators and media outlets.

Here is the basic message: The summary of the 2015 IGBST Annual Report released last week reveals a significant population decline for grizzly bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Taxpayers have a right to the COMPLETE report - particularly as grizzlies are in the process of being removed from the Endangered Species list.

Please Keep Grizzlies Protected, Mr. President

ASK POTUS TO KEEP GRIZZLY BEARS PROTECTED DAYS OF ACTION

Wednesday, August 17, through Friday, August 19.

Please call, email, tweet, Facebook and write letters asking the President to stop the risky plan to remove grizzly bears from the Endangered Species Act, which will open up a trophy hunting season.

Here is the basic message (feel free to elaborate): Please keep Yellowstone area grizzly bears on the Endangered Species list. Delisting is at odds with the best available science as these bears are genetically isolated, threatened by climate change and reside in states known to be extremely intolerant of predators. Further, these bears are a beloved American icon and most Americans, including 62% of independent experts, think these bears should remain listed.

FACE BOOK: Please like and/or reply to the post from dontdelistgrizzlies on the White House Facebook page. This will keep our comment up toward the top, where it will be seen by more people.

Where is the 2015 Annual IGBST Report, Frank?

ACTION RESOLVED. REPORT RELEASED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

Every year, the Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team (IGBST) releases an annual report on the state of grizzly bears. "This Annual Report summarizes results of grizzly bear (Ursus arctos) monitoring and research conducted in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE) by the IGBST .... The report also contains a summary of grizzly bear management actions to address conflict situations."

Reports usually come out in March for the previous year. It is now mid-August and no annual report for 2015 has been released. Experts who follow these annual reports indicate that the report has never been so late. Why?

The contents of this report will have bearing on the state of the Yellowstone grizzly bear population. It is imperative that it be released now and that the public have the opportunity to review it.

Please contact Frank Van Manen of USGS, the head of the IGBST, and ask: Where Is the Annual IGBST Report for 2015?

Please Thank National Park Service Employees Pushing for Buffer Zone

At last week's Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee meeting, Yellowstone National Park Superintendent Dan Wenk was the only one who pushed back on the states’ agenda, making the case for a no-hunt buffer zone around Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks. Wenk met with opposition from everyone on the committee, especially the states. Grand Teton National Park Superintendent David Vela also supports a buffer zone.

We disagree with the National Park Service's position on delisting.  They believe it is acceptable and we do believe Yellowstone ecosystem grizzly bears should remain protected under the Endangered Species Act. Nonetheless, we are grateful to the National Park Service - in particular Superintendents Wenk and Vela for pushing for a buffer zone. We appreciate them standing up for grizzly bears who live on the edges of our national parks.

Please thank these two officials and let their boss know your thoughts.

EMAIL: Please tell Director Jon Jarvis that you appreciate Superintendents Wenk and Vela's call for a no-hunt buffer zone around Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.

USFWS/Dan Ashe Conflict of Interest Call to Action

There are many unsettling ties between the United States Fish & Wildlife Service and trophy hunting entities, such as Safari Club. This call to action seeks to expose those. This action also seeks to highlight director Dan Ashe's various statements regarding hunting and admission, in an email obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, that removing grizzlies from the Endangered Species List is not supported by the best available science.

TWITTER: Here is our new TWEET SHEET on this topic.

FACE BOOK: Please investigate! I am concerned about the conflict of interest apparent in the process of removing Yellowstone area grizzly bears from the Endangered Species list. The Deputy Director charged with working with the tribes, Matt Hogan, is a trophy hunter, a former chief lobbyist for the Safari Club. If grizzlies are delisted, they will be subject to trophy hunting by surrounding states. #DontDelistGrizzlies

LETTER/EMAIL WRITING:  I am extremely concerned by the conflict of interest in the process to remove grizzly bears from the Endangered Species list. Deputy Director Matt Hogan, who is charged with collaborating with the tribes, is a trophy hunter and former lobbyist for the Safari Club. Grizzly bears will be subject to trophy hunting by Wyoming, Idaho and Montana if removed from the Endangered Species List. Please investigate this obvious conflicts of interest.
